Where have I been these last few weeks, trying to help Gordon Milward publish a book of poetry. I remember talking to Gordon a few months ago now when way back in April or earlier I said to him "I think we may be able to get a grant to help publish you book of poems" little did I know where this would lead me and Gordon to.
Walking through the tunnel to raise money, see the pictures on the website, talking to The Walton Centre and asking them for help (Money) as well as Liverpool Central branch of Parkinson's for help (Money again) but we have managed to come up with enough and finding a printer who for want of a better word is cheap although in his words I pushed all the right buttons when I pitched the book to him with all the charities involved so thank you to Colin and also for Dave of The Windows Project in Bold Street who put us in touch with the right people and his guidance throughout this has been invaluable. see the book and buy the book only £2.99 all the profits will go to charity for all those who have helped us on our way.
Over the last few months I have learnt more about paper and their weights full colour covers how many pages full bound and saddle stitched a whole new world for both of us but as we near to the end of our project, we are meeting today with someone who will help us set out the front and back cover and with some luck and as my dad would say "The wind behind us" we should be able to launch the book "DAYS OF HOPE" by G.W.Milward on the day of the annual report 14/10/09 I will let you know how we are getting on.
Don't forget our next volunteer meeting 30th September 10-12.00 followed by lunch
